STANISLAVA PINCHUK

What remains of communist dictatorships?

In the former home of Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha, Stanislava Pinchuk explores the ghosts of post-communism. By drawing parallels between stories of denunciation, vampire lore, and theories of hypnosis, she examines how ideologies continue to haunt bodies, places, and memories.

During her residency with the Vila 31 – Art Explora program, the Ukrainian artist turns to the history of Eastern Europe to question what it means to live after an authoritarian regime.
